The Hamilton International School (THIS) is one of Doha's premier schools and opened in 2019, with the Secondary School opening in 2020.

We offer a unique opportunity for a Business Studies Teacher to join our team in January 2024.

The Secondary School is currently open to students in Grades 6 to 11 and Grade 12 will open in August 2024.

We offer a high quality, bespoke, International Curriculum in Grades 6, 7 and 8.

In Grades 9 and 10, our students begin the High School Diploma and we aim to offer two pathways in Grades 11 and 12:
the High School Diploma and the IB Diploma.

About the role


We are looking for a Business Studies teacher, who can also teach enterprise or social studies (history/geography) in the lower grade levels as the school grows.

This is a really exciting time for a Business Studies Teacher to join our team as we look to introduce Business Studies for the first time.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an outstanding practitioner and leader
  • Has experience of teaching Business Studies from Grades Years
  • Can teach humanities or enterprise at Grades Years 9)
  • Has experience of building curriculums and relevant assessments
  • Is passionate about teaching and learning with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Will be committed to the vision of igniting passion, purpose and potential in our students
  • Can contribute to the development of the Social Studies Department, offering creative opportunities to enrich the learning experience of students at THIS
  • Can adapt the curriculum to fit student needs while maintaining overall class progress
  • Assesses and records student development, while identifying problem areas and areas which need attention and improvement
  • Has excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, parents, and school leaders
  • Maintains high levels of behaviour among students, while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidelines
  • Is passionate about learning beyond the curriculum
