Role Overview:


Food Safety Officer is responsible to ensure that all the staff is practicing good hygiene practices throughout the production in Central Production Kitchen.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chef with the daytoday requirements of the Kitchen.
  • Maintain the highest level of Food Hygiene & Safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Work mostly in the production areas, monitoring that food safety procedures are being followed.
  • Ensure proper documentation and records are completed by the responsible parties.
  • Problem solving as relates to food and safety issues.
  • Perform and record Food Safety inspection and report any irregularities and take proper corrective action.
  • Responsible for quality and safety checks for all raw and prepared food products.
  • Verify and communicate to appropriate departments any findings as it relates to food safety and/or quality issues.
  • Report and assist with correcting any unsanitary conditions in food preparation and food storage/receiving area.
  • Report any required maintenance/replacement of food preparation equipment, surfaces and tools.
  • Assist to maintain, and update all records, manuals, training procedures, product specification books.
  • Assist with preparation for any and all food safety audits.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all food premises.
  • Conduct supplier's audits, respectively fill the supplier audit reports and evaluate suppliers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Preferred to have a HACCP/Food Safety Level 3 trained.
  • Applicants should possess relevant educational qualification.
  • Work experience of at least 3 years in similar field is needed.
  • Experience in inspecting Food premises, write reports, and fill the checklists.
  • Specialized qualification in food safety and hygiene will be an advantage.
  • Should possess a track record of food safety and hygiene within the food industry.
  • Ability to liaise with all departments.
  • Should possess excellent communication skills.
  • Very good computer skills.
