Job Description

Full-time position reporting to the Head of Accounting and Financial Control

The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts receivable processes in line with the requirements of HEC Paris and the Qatar Foundation. Responsibilities include managing customer invoicing, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and addressing any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate billing system, ensuring all records are up to date
  • Generate and dispatch invoices, with a focus on monitoring/optimizing payment plans for clients
  • Proactively pursue payment collection, including managing credit card transactions and post-dated cheques as per established protocols
  • Initiate and process refunds in accordance with internal refund policies and procedures
  • Execute billing, collection, and reporting tasks within designated timelines
  • Conduct account reconciliations, diligently resolving any payment discrepancies that arise
  • Monitor customer accounts for instances of non-payments and delayed payments promptly addressing any irregularities
  • Review Accounts Receivable aging to ensure compliance
  • Maintain comprehensive records and files for accounts receivable customers
  • Investigate and resolve queries from participants
  • Communicate with participants via phone, email, mail, or in-person to ensure effective communication
  • Provide support during month-end closing procedures
  • Facilitate financial processes coordination between HEC Paris and Qatar Foundation
  • Offer solutions for financial challenges that may impact the operational efficiency of HEC Paris systems
  • Foster productive relationships with all stakeholders including, but not limited to, Qatar Foundation, HEC Paris, and external vendors
  • Assist the Management in preparing financial statements, reports and analyses
  • Participate in crafting financial policies, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Contribute to the development of accounting, statistical, and narrative reports, leveraging data analysis and interpretation skills
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 6+ years' work experience, preferably in the finance/accounting field
  • Knowledge of the higher or executive education industry preferred
  • Proficiency in office software (Microsoft Pack Office) with an intermediate level of proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to identify numerical errors, and a commitment to quality
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality
  • Diplomatic, with excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills for effective collaboration with varied stakeholders
  • Energetic and cheerful, with a strong work ethic and proactive approach
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork and collaboration
  • Proven ability to anticipate and solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent English communication skills; proficiency in French and/or Arabic is advantageous
  • Flexibility to occasionally work extended hours, as needed
  • Prior experience in Qatar and/or GCC preferred
