About the role
We are recruiting for Senior Air Traffic Management Officer, to be based in Doha, Qatar.


The Senior Air Traffic Management Officer will be responsible for obtaining and managing Overflight Permissions (OVF) for scheduled and non-schedule operations within QR route network through maintaining currency of in-house overflights permission tools such as OPPT, OPD etc.

and LIDO Traffic Rights. The role holder will support the assignment and de-confliction of ATC call signs to ensure flight safety.

In this role you will also be responsible for providing necessary flight planning and data analysis to support ATM and ANC initiatives as well as providing guidance and ad-hoc training to internal stakeholders (including, not limited to IOC, Pre-Ops, and Corporate Planners) on the OVF process.


Specific responsibilities for the role include:

  • Prepare and manage seasonal Overflight Permissions within QR Route network in accordance with Government Civil Aviation Authority requirements to ensure effective Air Traffic management.
  • Prepare and manage overflight permission requests for nonscheduled flights including but not limited to aircraft deliveries, charter operations, base training and wet lease operators.
  • Monitor flight schedule changes using inhouse system (Ozone) to determine overflight permission requirement, and ensure permits are obtained from Government agencies taking into account preferences for flight and fuel efficiencies.
  • Conduct flight planning and route analysis to determine overflight permission requirements to manage flight and fuel efficiency.
  • Assign alphanumeric call signs where required for flight safety and ensure their addition to required OVF/Landing permissions.
  • Provide support in the management and control of Air Navigation Charges (ANC), including invoice verification, budget control, and lobbying at Government level to ensure transparent and justifiable Air Navigation Charges.
  • Maintain currency of the Overflight Permissions Production Tool (OPPT), Overflight Permissions Directory (OPD), Air Navigation Charges verification tool and Euro Control CSST.
  • Maintain 'Traffic Rights' in LIDO Flight planning system to ensure flight planning is in accordance with company policy.
  • Support ATM Manager in preparing and maintaining ATM procedures and documentation.
  • Perform data and flight planning/route analysis to support company and Industry ATM initiatives.
  • Provide Aeronautical Information Analysis to ATM Manager to take reasonable actions in accordance with the information.
  • Maintains a working representation within the IOC (OVF desk) on shift basis to ensure relevant information is shared to effectively manage the Air Traffic operations.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications:

About you

  • High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of jobrelated experience.

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of jobrelated experience.

Essential

  • Specialist minimum 45 years of jobrelated experience required.

Job Specific Skills:

Essential

  • Command over English language.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of International flight planning requirements and dispatch practices.
  • Knowledge of Flight Planning Software, LIDO OC.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aeronautical Information Publications.

Preferred

  • Experience in the management of Overflight Permissions.
  • Experience working for an ANSP or Airline in Flight Operations Navigation and ATM department.
  • Fluency in French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian or Chinese would be considered advantageous.
