HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (REFINING)

Primary purpose of job
Conducts site inspections with regard to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and ensure compliance by monitoring the

conditions prevailing after the electronic Permit To Work (PTW) has been issued and other routine activities carried out at

Refining Operations (Refinery & Chemical Plant) premises.

Experience & Skills:

  • Safety Courses — NEBOSH General Certificate
  • English Level5 proficiency
  • First Aid certificate.
  • Good knowledge of Refining Operations process units, product storage Tanks and support utility units.
  • Good knowledge in Plant Operation Information System such as Laboratory Information System (LIMS), Advanced
Process Control (APC) and Refinery Information System (RIS) and SAP.

  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Good computer knowledge and skills.
  • Leadership, command, and control skills.
  • Problem solving and motivational skills.
  • Good presentation and investigation skills.
  • Good data interpretation and compilation skills.
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform field inspections, risk assessment and review/prepares proposals.
  • Ability to work effectively with various personnel and in teams and be flexible in work assignments.
  • Ability for improving bad working habits, employee performance, maintaining improved performance, utilizing effective
follow up actions to solve employee or work-related problems.

  • A minimum of 8 years relevant experience within the oil & gas industry, skills and experience relating to Permit to Work,
Gas testing, Job Hazard Analysis, etc.

Internationally recognized Safety Diploma
