Work with and support management,production, commercial & marketing personnel in defining,implementing and achieving quality objectives/ KPIs.

  • Review work processes and procedures toimprove productivity, efficiency and overall work performancethrough promoting and creating a quality culture and qualityconscious employee and third parties whereappropriate.
  • Develop, implement and maintainProject quality management system with required policies ,procedures , processes and QA-QC organization specific to projectscope. Define Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection Test Plan(ITP) for projects in conformity with client requirements,specifications and scope of work.
  • Develop,plan, schedule and conduct internal quality audits in alldepartments and functions as mandated by Quality ManagementSystem.
  • Develop, plan, schedule and conductproject quality audits in accordance with project audit scheduleand plans. Ensure that the findings are concluded with appropriateand effective control actions in timelymanner.
  • Facilitate and support external audits( by client , certification council , client nominated thirdparties ,etc.) in projects , as part of prequalificationassessments, tender evaluation/ awarding phases,etc.
  • Register , investigate , participate inroot cause analysis, follow up and close out NCRs and correctiveactions requests (CAR) resulting from external audits, customercomplaints, internal audits , product / processes failureinstances, etc.
  • Provide appropriate QA-QCinput documentation to support the bidding processes for marine andnon-marine sector scopes.
  • Ensure thatShipyard qualifications and approvals ( Floating dockclassifications, , marine survey certifications, ASME , UL ,etc.)are renewed and validated in timely manner.
  • Ensure that welding and fabrication QA-QC process is fullyimplemented including the implementation of required procedures,instructions , quality control plans (ITP),etc. Responsible toensure that WPS,PQR , WPQ ,welder qualification records , current and new qualifications (WPS,PQR) ,when required, areachieved.
  • Ensure that QA-QC systemappropriate to the production departments such as Mechanical,Machine, Blasting & Painting , docks including ship liftand related maintenance is fully implemented and maintained withrequired procedures , instructions, quality control plans (ITP),checklists , etc. in place.
  • Act as a processowner and ensure timely adherence to the renewal of calibration/inspection/ tests as applicable. Be the custodian of shipyardcalibration, inspection and test reports including monitoring ,measuring , test , lifting equipment and accessories.
  • Steer customer satisfaction measurementprocesses, production quality objectives/ KPIs ( defect reports,rework / repair , process failures ) monitor and measure andanalyse these data to be used for upward management reporting andcontinual improvement.
  • Responsible forimplementing contractor quality management processes to ensure thatcontracted / outsourced products and services meet shipyard qualityrequirements.
  • Responsible to ensure thatdocument control processes are applied in the internal design anddevelopment process that the drawings, specifications, sketches,etc. developed internally remain uniquely identified, relevantversions are available for use/ reference and archived as perdocument control practices.
  • Ensure that theshipyard personnel including new recruits are inducted to QA/QCdocumentation, processes, and practices. Conduct quality awarenesstraining at defined intervals for the benefit of all employees.
  • Participate in supplier assessment andevaluation process related to QA/QC.
  • Participate in management review , Production quality meetings ,Project meetings with client project team and ensure that customerrequirements are met consistently through the management of QualitySystem.
  • Provide recommendations on newsubordinate hires and ensure the availability of all resourcesrequired to perform assigned tasks andactivities
  • Supervise subordinate staff, assignwork activities, monitor performance and reviewresults
