Al Khalij is a mature offshore oil field producing 20kbopd from 7 platforms and 45+ wells.

The subsurface and surface data collected from the wells is used for monitoring and synthesis purposes, to ensure a proper follow-up of the field, the optimization of the production, and to identify future targets for development.


  • To analyze the data, several PowerBI/Spotfire dashboards have been developed. One of your tasks will be to make these dashboards evolve, in line with the reservoir engineering needs. You will be in interaction with the asset geosciences team to best identify the needs, propose updates, and implement them. You will also be in contact with HQ support to ensure proper development.
  • You will also be involved in dynamic simulation and monitoring activities and your missions will be:
  • Digital dashboards:
  • Evaluate user needs to propose evolutions/further development to existing dashboards;
  • Update the benchmark of available tools to evaluate if retained technical is in line with dashboard objectives;
  • Implement evolution on existing tool, or convert dashboard to new technical solution if needed;
  • Improve the efficiencies of dashboards in terms of data loading and data refresh;
  • Ensure constant communication with end users to best fist the users needs;

Reservoir simulation:

  • Participate in dynamic model update for reservoir flow simulation. Participate in the effort for regional history match of the geomodel using Petrel/Intersect. Run uncertainty studies to evaluate impact of uncertain parameters;
  • Ensure 3G geosciences integration by backlooping with the geologist and the geophysicist for the static hypotheses;
  • Perform sensitivities on water injection for production and voidage replacement optimization and purposes;

Monitoring:

  • Participate to the well production followup, data consolidation, analysis and reporting;
  • Participate in the monthly backallocation exercises;
  • Participate in the definition of the monthly monitoring program;
  • Interaction with Field operations teams (Production, Well performance, Metering) for production monitoring and the followup of actions on wells;
  • Active participation in the process to identify and promote production improvement actions.

Expected qualifications:

Engineering or Master's Degree with specialization in geosciences. A previous experience in the petroleum industry or in the digital domain would be a plus.

Technical skills:

Interest in data architecture, data manipulation, building of statistical model and analytical approaches
Computing skills:
Skills in Excel Macro VBA
