Overview / Responsibilities:

  • Ensure schedule and cost considerations are included in design decisions, while maintaining primary responsibility to assure safe and appropriate quality designs
  • Ensure Electrical Engineering activities are executed in alignment with Shell's Project Delivery Roadmap and Opportunity Realization Process
  • Delivery of the Electrical equipment engineering scope for assigned projects, ensuring flawless startup of Equipment and compliance with agreed HSSE practices and procedures as defined under the QSGTL HSSE management system
  • Act as Lead Electrical equipment focal point in the review and preparation of engineering deliverables ranging from engineering study deliverables to RFC packages, commissioning procedures, ITPs, Material Requisition, Technical Bid Evaluations, etc
  • Drive technical assurance: Assure engineering and construction of Electrical equipment engineering discipline scope is carried out in compliance with required project standards and specifications, including DEM1 and DEM2 standards
  • Participate in engineering reviews regarding Electrical equipment engineering discipline, witnessing of Factory Acceptance Tests, as required and participate in safety and quality audits and field reviews as required
  • Drive installation quality, working with Construction contractor and QPH Construction team and provide technical support for commissioning and/or startup of Electrical Equipment where applicable
  • To be fully familiar and up to date with latest Shell and Industry standards and ensure compliance of projects design with these latest standards to be fully familiar with Shell TAMAP, EFAs and SPEP for Electrical equipment
  • Support COMPANY in auditing construction field activities for compliance and assist in resolution of field nonconformance issues as required
  • Ensure design meets requirements of Shell's HSSE Framework
  • Design and develop, as required, innovative technical approaches to the broader process engineering issues and contribute to continuous business improvement initiatives (fit for purpose)
  • Provide (one stop shop) Electrical equipment engineering support and delivery for QPH projects
  • Accountability for process engineering deliverables and engineering execution planning support including provision of senior engineering expertise
  • Proactively working with the Engineering Manager to key Projects on track and achieve Top Quartile (TQ) performance for the portfolio
  • Drive and delivery of an everincreasing effectiveness and efficiency in producing project designs, through Elimination, Simplification, Standardisation and Automation balanced against the need for Top Quartile FEL in, and quality designs for the Qatar Project Delivery Hub projects
  • Lead Management of Repeated Failures for respective discipline

Skills / Qualifications:

  • BSc., University in ELECTRICAL Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas related ELECTRICAL mechanical Design and Engineering
  • Performs as a professional ELECTRICAL equipment engineer for projects and plant modifications from Front End Development through execution / commissioning and startup.
Past work experience should entail but not limited to the following:

  • Technical support for operation and maintenance of Electrical equipment
  • Testing, installation, commissioning and start up of Electrical equipment
  • Design, selection and specification of Electrical equipment
  • Minimum 510 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas Project Delivery as a Umbrella Contract Lead Electrical equipment engineer function in a multidiscipline Workforce
  • Experience in the Middle East, knowledge of GTL and LNG are an advantage, as is frontend and commissioning experience and execution.
  • Proven leadership skills and strong personal drive in order to meet deadlines and specific targets.
  • Team player with clear evidence of working with others to deliver on goals.
