A special schools development center in Qatar is looking to recruit a
Behavior
Therapist in a full-time role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate and report on prospective students based on approved selection criteria and generate reports together with the head of special education
  • Evaluate the admitted children and prepare intervention plan for each child including admission, progress, and exit.
  • Execution of the plan in a way that interests the child
  • One to one and group interventions as required
  • Develop daily lesson plans in discussion with immediate supervisor; maintain daily progress reports and activity reports for each child.
  • Ensure safety of each child and minimize liability for the school.
  • Maintain and up to date filing of all relevant records in concerned student files.
  • Correspond with parents on the progress of each child and suggest techniques for training at home through approved channels.
  • Involve the children, parents and caretakers in the program of intervention to ensure post training practice and follow up.
  • Train staff and parents on how to develop the behavior of the child
  • Synthesizes evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment and guides evidence-based intervention.
  • Record and report on the progress of each child to be presented at parent teacher meetings, and periodically as required by the immediate supervisor.
  • Be accountable for all educational aids and equipment assigned to them or under their care for their classes.
  • Work as a team with other staff members and coordinate in the maximization of impact for the child
  • Plan and participate in extra curricular activities
  • Participates in continuing education for professional development to ensure practice consistent with best practice
  • Uses professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision making in practice.
  • Handle other activities as directed by the Supervisor and the Managing Director.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • Have successfully completed and graduated from an accredited Master's degree in Psychology, Applied Behavioral Science, or related field.
  • Recognized by national governments and have completed all fieldwork requirements.

EXPERIENCE


At least Three (3) years of experience in similar work in educational and clinical pediatric practice settings, preferably in a single organization handling children with special needs.


Salary:
Up to QAR6,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Doha: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
