PersonalProfile

TheDatabase Manager role combines database administration analysisapplication development product support and project management. Theprimary responsibilities include maintaining the schools datasystems assisting departments and endusers in accessing andutilising the required data documentation of procedure and policiesand designing and implementing data systems and procedures. Thisrole is key in supporting the schools journey of deep datacollection and analysis.

Theschools core data systems comprise of Microsoft PowerAppsiSAMS(SQL)EveryHRManagebac ToddleOpenApplyMicrosoft SharePoint Microsoft 365FinalsiteLAC (Learning Analytics Collaborative) and thirdparty webbasedservices and API solutions. This position offers an excellentopportunity to lead the school towards a modern userfriendly anddata driveninstitution.

He/Shemust seamlessly blend interpersonal skills with technicalunderstanding. Strong communication abilities are paramount tounderstand and address the needs of endusers with clarity andempathy. Simultaneously he/she must wield exceptional technicalacumen to organise and integrate data across systems. With a talentfor translating user requirements into tangible solutions the idealcandidate will bridge the gap between human needs and datadrivenoutcomes withproficiency.



Requirements

1Qualifications.The schoolprefers people who:

1.1have a Bachelor sdegree in related fieldorequivalent

1.22 years and above experience in studentinformation systems or related database management softwarerequired

1.3have experience with school registrar(preferred)

2Knowledge andSkills.He/Sheshould:

2.3be fluent in English (spoken andwritten)

2.7intermediate to highintermediate user ofMS Excel and understanding scripts and data import/exportfiles

2.9have fluency with the management ofcomplex data

2.10able to handle sensitive and confidential material withintegrity

2.11have willingness and ability to learn newapplications

2.12have provenability to work independently within tight deadlines and strongtimemanagement project management and organisationskills

3Responsibilities

3.1DataManagement:Oversees andmaintains alldatabases for all record keeping in the schools operationsmaintainsrecordkeeping standards manages data system updates and overseesdata transfers between systems. Responsible for datasynchronisation across multiple applications and ensuring efficientdata flow across databases. In collaboration with the EdTechCoaches create engaging training sessions for teachers and studentsof varying skill levels and training documentation on using andaccessing the school s administrativesystems.

3.2DatabaseAdministration andCustomisation:Customises administrative systems regularly validates backupsresponds to and resolves database problems and develops andmaintains data import and export procedures. Provides backupsupport to users and develops routines to facilitate data usagebest practices.

3.3SystemDevelopment andMaintenance:Enhances administrative systems with custom programming such asPowerApps and Visual Studio supports administrative and academicsystems with specific tools maintains data security and developsand revises custom application. Serves as the primary contact forinhouse developed apps and processes and stays abreast of newtechnologies and approaches to databasemanagement.

3.4EndofYearRollover:Facilitates and guides the endoyyear rollover of all databases toensure a smooth transition for each academic year. This includestechnical configurations for timetable and schedule readiness andensuring the latest technical recommendations and industrystandards are recommended andadopted.

3.5ProjectManagement:Coordinates with other Tech Hub staff and leaders and coordinatesefforts of data ambassadors and other experts to achieve the schools goals. Manages database installations and updates ensuringprojects are delivered on time and withinbudget.

3.6Training andSupport: Providetraining to the administrative staff on the use of systems supportsthe Tech Hub team with support tickets as required and providessupport and training to all users of database systems asneeded.

3.7Report Generation andManagement:Facilitates the report card and transcript process and evaluatesadministrative data requests creates data collection and reports(not academic) in response to business user and schoolneeds.

3.8TimetableMaintenance:Supports the preparation of the master schedule for teachers andstudents in Early Childhood through Grade Twelve. Additionallycommunicate and document configuration changes to school facilitiesas they relate to scheduling. Work with divisional heads departmentleaders and deans to support student scheduleconflicts.
