Manages patient care workload in EmergencyDepartment, Critical Care, Neonatal Care and GeneralWards.

Performs adult and pediatric/neonatalrespiratory procedures including set-up and monitoring of free flowO2 therapy systems, blend aerosol systems, medicinal aerosolsystems, volume expansion techniques/devices, bronchial hygienetechniques/devices and CPR.

Manages ventilatorsystems including setup and monitoring of continuous invasive andnon-invasive mechanical ventilationsystems.

Performs emergency procedures includingset-up and monitoring of adult invasive and non-invasive mechanicalventilator systems and related supportiveadjuncts.

Job Responsibilities2

Performs adult, pediatric andneonatal arterial puncture for arterial blood gas analysis, andcapillary puncture for venous blood gas analysis in neonatalpatients.

Assists with bronchoscopyprocedures.

Administers aerosolized medicationsas prescribed, assesses patient's response, andrecommends modification by protocol and physicianorder.

Takes an active role within thedevelopment of the Rehabilitation Services, delivering In-Servicetraining, facilitating/delivering the training and development ofnon-therapy staff and sharing knowledge and skills whereappropriate.

Manages own time and caseload withan awareness of limitation of the Therapy Service and a knowledgeof specialist facilities and appropriate referral and providessupport to colleagues and direct reports to manage theircaseload.

Acts as a key figure within theHospital, in the provision of specialist knowledge and skill in therespiratory assessment, management and treatment of patients,within a broad scope of practice.

Adheres to alldepartmental and facility wide policies, procedures, riskassessments and processes in the interests of maintaining a safeand effective work environment and promoting the highest qualitypatient care experience.
