Capacity Assessment:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of the existing mechanical infrastructure to determine its capacity and identify areas for enhancement or expansion to accommodate network growth.


  • Planning and Design: Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including network planning, operations, and facility management to develop strategic plans for mechanical capacity upgrades. Design mechanical systems and layouts to optimize performance and support scalability.
  • HVAC

Systems Analysis:

Evaluate Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure they meet the cooling requirements of network equipment and facilities.

Optimize HVAC configurations for energy efficiency and reliability.

  • Equipment Sizing and Selection: Determine the appropriate sizing and specifications for mechanical equipment such as chillers, pumps, and cooling towers to meet capacity demands and operational requirements.
  • Budgeting and

Cost Analysis:
Assist in preparing budgets for mechanical infrastructure projects. Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate different solutions and technologies, considering factors such as energy efficiency and lifecycle costs.

  • Compliance and Standards: Stay informed about relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards related to mechanical systems and environmental controls. Ensure all designs and installations comply with applicable requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the mechanical infrastructure, such as overheating or equipment failure, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
  • Project Management: Oversee the implementation of mechanical capacity enhancement projects, coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of mechanical infrastructure assets, configurations, and performance metrics. Generate regular reports on capacity utilization, energy consumption, and project status.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the capacity planning function. Implement best practices and recommend innovative solutions to enhance mechanical infrastructure performance.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, thermodynamics, and HVAC systems design.
  • Previous experience in capacity planning, facilities engineering, or telecommunications infrastructure management is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools for mechanical design, simulation, and analysis.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make datadriven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Project management experience with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and lead crossfunctional teams.
  • Detailoriented approach with a focus on accuracy and quality in documentation and reporting.
