About the role


As a Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing support, guidance and coordination of the day-to-day safety requirements of the Division by coaching and conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with laws and best practices.

Accountabilities

Operational

  • Assist with instilling a safety culture within the Division. Provide support to the Division by maintaining presence in the field performing site visits, inspections and coordination with QRFM.
  • Perform routine surveillance of critical areas within commercial and residential properties.
  • Assist in the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HS&E programs in the field.
  • Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards, to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in implementation of Safety Management Plan (SMP) to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors and community.
  • Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately by following QR Procedures for incident reporting.
  • Participate and assist manager compliance, QR Healthy and Safety System and Lead Officer in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
  • Review pre work briefing methodology and contribute towards regular improvement.
  • Conduct risk assessments where required.
  • Review safety obligations of the contractors and ensure they are carried out as per the terms of the agreement.
  • Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
Operational Safety

  • Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operation to guarantee employee safety, security, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude
  • Take a direct and personal interest in reported injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards to ensure that appropriate reporting, investigation and response is being achieved.

Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with minimum 3 years of jobrelated experience
Essential

  • Previous role as an H & S Supervisor in construction / property related projects.
  • Past experience in H&S department.
Preferred

  • Knowledge and experience in working with an ISO H&S Quality Management System.

Job Specific Skills:

  • Conducting a Risk Assessment and minimizing risk in the workplace.
  • Command of English Language speaking and writing reports.


 Managerial skills
  • Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
