Successful applicants
must have:

  • A certified UK teaching qualification, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics.
  • Recent experience teaching i/GCSE and AS/A level Mathematics (preferably with either Cambridge or Pearson International Examinations).
  • A desire to help build a thriving department.
  • A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of how to differentiate teaching materials so that all pupils have an opportunity to access the curriculum.
  • A willingness to take part in extracurricular activities after school.

Desirable qualities:

  • An ability to teach i/GCSE Further Mathematics and / or i/GCSE Statistics.
  • Experience of teaching pupils with English as an Additional Language or English as a Second Language.
  • Experience of integrating technology into secondary teaching.
  • Experience of, or an understanding of how STEM education can be integrated into the secondary Mathematics curriculum.
  • Recent UK experience and previous international teaching experience.

HOW TO APPLY:

Successful applicants will be required to travel to Qatar around 21st August 2024 for induction training.

Sherborne Qatar School for Girls, a STEM School, opened in a new purpose-built school building in January 2021 on a brand-new site near Doha Festival City, Qatar.

The school is for girls from Pre-School to Year 12 and is marketed equally to local pupils and expats, but the majority of girls comes from the local community.

This is in the best traditions of British education and is the educational philosophy behind the girls' school.
