E&I Planning Engineer cum Quantity Surveyor

Location:
Doha, Qatar

Experience:
8 to 10 Years (as E&I Planning Eng. or similar roles)

Salary Range:
Qr.6,000 to Qr.8,000 per month

Must Have:
Hands-on experience in MEP and E&I project controls, encompassing invoicing, costing, financial budgeting, limitations, and scheduling. Responsible for meticulous documentation, reporting of project timelines, and recommending actions for enhanced project progress. A valid Qatar Driving License could be advantageous.

Position Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans and schedules for E&I construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Monitor and analyze project progress, identifying potential risks, and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize project management tools and software to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for E&I projects.
  • Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations to optimize project costs.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure accurate pricing and budget adherence.
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Review and negotiate variations in contracts, providing accurate cost assessments.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to contracts, change orders, and claims.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Provide regular updates on project timelines, costs, and potential risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the project team to resolve issues and challenges in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all project activities adhere to relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in project audits and reviews to assess compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Review Plan & prepare detailed Resource Loaded Schedule for all E&I activities.
  • Update & Monitor Actual Progress against Baseline.
  • Calculate achieved progress weightage & generate reports for invoicing.
  • Generate measurement reports & monthly Invoicing.
  • Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs for E&I components based on project specifications.
  • Monitor and control project costs, identifying and addressing any deviations.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates & Budget considering materials, labor, and other relevant factors.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to refine cost estimates as necessary.
  • Implement effective cost control measures to optimize project expenditures.
  • Conduct regular cost analyses and recommend costsaving initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with cost control policies and procedures.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure contractual terms align with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Administer contract variations and resolve commercial issues as they arise.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Planning Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, for E&I Works in Oil & Gas construction projects.
  • Familiarity with industryspecific software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
