EssentialQualifications/Experience:

ABachelors Degree in Computer Science combined with a minimum of 2years experience as Cyber Tools Engineer or similar positioninvolving technical ICT Engineering knowledge and management ofcyber tools, or a Secondary education and completed advancedvocational education (loading to a professional qualification orprofessional accreditation) with a minimum of 4 years post relatedexperience
Extensivepractical experience with Splunk (deployment, installation,configuration andmaintenance)
Practicalexperience in designing Splunk basedsolutions
Knowledgeof Splunk Enterprise security, Phantom andUBA
Expertlevel and previous experience related to SIEM/LogA managementactivities
Demonstrableexperience of analysing and interpreting system, security andapplication logs in order to diagnose faults and spot abnormalbehaviors
Practicalhands-on experience in systems and tools administration, especiallyLinuxenvironment
Comprehensiveknowledge of the principles of computer and communication security,networking, and the vulnerabilities of modern operating systems andapplications
Practicalskills in writing bash, python or ansible scripts to supportrepetitive tasks automation, Linux system and applicationadministration andtroubleshooting
Solidunderstanding of regularexpressions

DesirableQualifications/Experience:
Extensivepractical experience with Splunk Enterprise security, Phantom andUBA
Extensivepractical experience with MicroFocusArcSight
Experienceof using and administering security tools such as Sourcefire,Symantec Endpoint Protection, or RSA SecurityAnalytics

Proficientwith SIEM content creation correlation rules, reports,dashboards
Experiencein creation/modification of custom parsers or flexconnectors
Understandingthe Indicator of Compromise (IOC) concept and experience inintegration of Threat Intel feeds and IOCs with SIEMplatform
Softwareengineering including programming and/or scripting knowledge(python, shell scripting,PowerShell)
Troubleshootingof Linux and/or Windowsinfrastructures
Goodknowledge of maintaining a secure enterprise network throughconfiguring and managing typical Security Enforcing Devices, suchas Firewalls, Proxies, IDS/IPS devices, HIDS/EPO. Knowledge ofSourcefire/Snort
Priorexperience automating interactions between systems usingAPIs
Industryleading certification in the area of Cybersecurity such as, but notlimited to: CISSP, CISM, MCSE/S, CISA, SANS GNSA, SANSGIAC
Asolid understanding of Information Security Practices; relating tothe Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information (CIAtriad.)
Priorexperience of working in an international environment comprisingboth military and civilianelements
Priorexperience as a user of SIEM and Log aggregationsystems

DUTIES/ROLE:
Management,maintenance and configuration of SIEM/LogAtools:
SecurityIncident Event Management (SIEM) Splunk Enterprise Security,Microfocus ArcSightESM
LogAggregation (LogA) - Splunk Forwarders, Microfocus Arcsight LoggersandConnectors
Setupa monitoring mechanism detecting potential issues in real time. Theissues shall not be limited to the software configuration but toeverything related to the proper delivery of the service (loss oflog sources, performance issue, HW resources, dataparsing)
Continuouslymonitor all system components (SIEM, LogA, log sources) and takeappropriate actions for solving detectedissues
Supportproject activities related to SIEM/LogA capability; act as asubject matter expert (SME) and point of contact (POC) tofacilitate further systemdevelopment
Providetechnical support in troubleshooting infrastructure and operationalissues and collaborating with other teams for a successfulresolution
Providerequired support and assistance for integration with externaltools
Ensurethat any SIEM/LogA specialised applications are installed,configured, and running properly and in line with dependencies withothers systems or applicationsrequired
Identifyupgrade requirements and areas of improvement to ensure anup-to-date and stable environment. Justify business needs, preparedocumentation and propose implementation plan for the ChangeManagementBoard
Implementthe approved changes following co-ordination with otherstakeholders
Proactivelyrecommend optimizations to capabilities to provide effective andefficient serviceoperations
Reviewsecurity documentation and provide technical advice, whenrequested
Maintainawareness of new technologies and developments, industry standardsand best practices; participate in knowledge sharing with SIEM/LogAcommunity and develop solutionsefficiently
Createtechnical and/or executive level reports asrequired
Providesubject matter expertise and input for any future projects andsystemexpansion
Performother essential duties asassigned
Standardworking hours, with the exception of working in nonstandard workinghours up to 360 hoursannually
Inaddition, it may exceptionally be required to work non-standardhours in support of a major Cyber Incident or on a shift system fora limited period due to urgent operationalneeds
