Key Job Accountabilities

  • Workclosely with major project team & contractors to ensurefast, smooth roll-out of infrastructure for project offices andprovision of the remote connectivity.
  • Create and updatethe network documentation and ensure that the network is deployedbased on the project requirements in alignment with Qatargasinternal policies and procedures.
  • Work non-traditionalhours when necessary to support the business users and fix thenetwork related issues.
  • Carries out agreed operationalprocedures associated with operating and controlling the installed(or virtual) hardware and software. This may include configurationand maintenance of multiple hardware or software platforms.
Implements maintenance routines, utilizing the appropriate toolsand test equipment. Uses standard procedures and tools to carry outdefined system backups, restoring data where necessary. (ITOP 301)

  • Uses infrastructure management tools to collect andreport on load and performance data and statistics. Carries outrequired monitoring, logging and reporting tasks. (ITOP 302)
  • Identifies operational problems and contributes to theirresolution. Investigates, diagnoses and resolves low impactoperational problems following incident management procedures,within service level agreement tolerances, referring to users,other staff, and suppliers, as necessary. Takes action on knownerrors and documented workarounds, logging such actions andadvising supervisor or specialists when management or specialistattention is required. (ITOP 304)
  • Installs or removeshardware and/or software, using supplied installation instructionsand tools including, where appropriate, handover to the client.(HSIN 301)
  • Assists in producing simple architectures,topologies, configuration databases and design documentation ofnetworks and networking technology. (NTDS 302)
  • Appliesstandard user/system interfaces, including reports, validation anderror correction procedures, processing rules, access, security andaudit controls, recovery routines and contingency procedures. (NTDS303)
  • Investigates potential and actual service problemsand recommends solutions. Analyses change and system requests.
Follows formal procedures to plan and test proposed solutions.(SYSP 302)

  • Collects performance data to monitor systemefficiency against published service level agreements. Monitorsboth resource usage and failure rates of installed systems andprovides feedback to management. (SYSP 304) Required Qualification
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in ComputerScience, Information Technology, Information Systems or otherrelevant discipline. Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 yearsof IT experience (ideally within Oil & Gas industry)
  • Competent knowledge in core network & securitytechnologies Conversant with relevant IT national and internationalstandards Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Demonstrated experience in IT support environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong projectmanagement skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
