Our client is a leading Qatari Holding Group with diversified global business interests within the Hospitality, Real Estate, Industrial, Investment Management and Financial Services sectors.

This Group is currently undergoing major business transformation change introduced to support corporate governance objectives, business growth and to bring the group to a world standard.

Our client now seeks to recruit an Investment Analyst - Capital Markets who will assist in the oversight of the Group's investment portfolio that comprises stocks, bonds, currencies and commodities including the update of developments in global and local markets and the placement and follow up of market orders.


Reporting to the Investment Manager - Capital Markets, this role is responsible for the following:

CAPITAL MARKETS

  • Conduct extensive research across all asset classes including equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities and structured products.
  • Conduct extensive fundamental and technical analysis on major stocks and currencies.
  • Follow news, earnings and corporate developments related to the existing portfolio and watch list.
  • Create and present investment proposals and continuously monitor the existing asset allocation and suggested rebalancing strategies.
  • Keep management updated with Event and Economic Calendars and suggest actions to benefit from market trends.
  • Prepare daily market update reports and submit periodic reports on market developments to executive management.
  • Execute transactions in a precise, professional and timely manner and follow up on the transaction status and update portfolios accordingly.
  • Maintain database by entering, verifying, and backing up data.

TREASURY MANAGEMENT

  • Manage the inhouse Treasury and Investment Management teams and monitor third party activities managing outsourced Treasury backoffice functions.
  • Forecast and manage cash positions, related borrowing needs and funds available for investment.
  • Ensure sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
  • Define cash reporting and forecasting processes providing accurate and reliable forecasts.
  • Structure, negotiate, close and monitor shortterm financing facilities.
  • Manage activities related to shortterm funding and financial closure, up to disbursement.
  • Develop and implement bestinclass cash and liquidity management systems and report thereof.
  • Ensure optimal funding for the various Business Units.
  • Monitor investment activities (CapEx) for the firm with a view toward efficient allocation of capital.

The attributes we seek for this role comprise:

  • Bachelor in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Accounting is required with a Masters being highly desirable. CFA Level I or II certification and/or CTP certification is a plus.
  • 3+ years' experience in Portfolio Management and/or Corporate Treasury with expertise in trading, banking and investment funds.
  • The strong communicator we seek will have public speaking skills, strong decision making, problem solving, organisational abilities, be detail oriented and have experience in fundamental and technical analysis.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in Visio would be a plus.
  • English fluency is essential with Arabic being highly regarded.
