Job Purpose

Responsible for overseeing and leading electrical engineering activities in NFXP/NFW Onshore Common Lean LNG Storage and Loading Expansion Project (EPC-2). Position ensures all electrical engineering design requirements such as project philosophies, specifications, codes, standards and practices are in full compliance with project, QatarEnergy LNG, and Kahramaa requirements. Position shall deliver discipline results to the highest technical quality standards and provides clear guidance to the EPC contractor including facilitating resolution of technical issues such that all electrical design activities meet project objectives.

Key Accountabilities (Duties include but not limited to)
  1. Demonstrate personal SHES leadership and excellent SHES behaviours at all times. Perform as a safety leader through setting and exhibiting the highest safety standards of behavior and actions to the workforce. Actively participate in Toolbox Talks, Task Instructions and site safety walkthroughs.
  2. Ensure electrical engineering activities are conducted in accordance with local regulatory requirements, codes and standards, project specifications and industry practices. Ensure that Contractors/Subcontractors are conducting engineering design in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and safe practices.
  3. Resolve electrical discipline issues timely to ensure engineering designs meet NFXP/NFW Project's expectations and objectives.
  4. Ensure approved design recommendations and programs are utilized by the Project to improve design integrity, reduce inefficiencies, and maintain high safety and risks standards.
  5. Steward Contractors' electrical design and execution activities in accordance to specifications, verify adequacy of Contractor resources and personnel competency for the tasks, employment of appropriate tools including use of approved technical software.
  6. Coordinate and analyse discipline issues for resolution. Provide Electrical Engineering input to other engineering disciplines, construction, procurement, Quality etc as necessary. Support commissioning and system completing activities and make appropriate recommendations to management on electrical discipline matters.
Technical and Business Skills
  • Fluent in written and oral English.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, coordination and planning skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact / interface at all levels.
  • Good mediation skills including conflict resolution, problem-solving, creative thinking, influencing and empathy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of industry codes, standards and practices for electrical discipline.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Knowledge and/or Experience
  • 10 years' experience in Electrical Engineering discipline in large oil & gas projects. Broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, industry standards/codes/practices, onshore LNG facilities.
  • Broad Electrical equipment and systems experience (High Voltage equipment, transformers, switchgear, power management systems, and electrical controls) and familiarity with relevant manufacturing processes.
  • Brownfield engineering and execution knowledge.
  • Strong leadership skills, personal integrity, experience guiding and assisting contractor teams.
