Sr Electrician

The Senior Electrician specializing in Control Wiring is a key member of the hospital's Facilities Management team, responsible for overseeing, managing, and performing control wiring tasks related to electrical systems.

This role involves advanced knowledge of control systems, automation, and instrumentation, ensuring the hospital's electrical infrastructure operates efficiently and safely.

• Plan, install, and maintain control wiring systems for various electrical equipment and systems, including HVAC, lighting controls, and medical equipment.
• Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and other automation technologies.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot control wiring issues, utilizing advanced knowledge of control panels, sensors, actuators, and related components.
• Collaborate with other electricians and engineering teams to resolve complex electrical and control system problems.

• Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation devices such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, and temperature sensors.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of control instruments used in critical hospital systems.

• Program and configure control systems to meet hospital requirements.
• Integrate control systems with building management systems (BMS) and other facility automation platforms.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for control wiring and automation systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.

• Adhere to electrical and control system safety regulations and hospital policies.
• Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the development of safety protocols.

• Maintain accurate records of control wiring installations, maintenance activities, and system configurations.
• Generate reports on the performance and reliability of control systems for supervisory review.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior electricians, particularly in the area of control wiring.
• Conduct training sessions to enhance the team's skills in control systems.

• Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, IT, and facilities management, to ensure seamless integration of control systems with overall hospital operations.

• ITI or Trade Certificate in Electrical or a related field.
• Extensive experience as an electrician with a focus on control wiring and automation.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and control system schematics.
• Advanced knowledge of PLCs, DCS, and control system programming.
• Familiarity with building management systems and integration.
• Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
