Enter Details:

The incumbent will contribute to the adequacy andeffectiveness of the Relevant Areas legal function within QNBGroup. In particular the incumbent will in respect of RelevantAreas ensure accurate legal advice is provided to all the RelevantAreas business areas by all the legal functions operatingthroughout the QNB Group. Assume a lead role in negotiating allmajor commercial contracts and procurement agreements to which theGroup becomes a party including all IP/ITconsiderations.

Enter Details:
  • Review and revise the existingpolicies and procedures for the domestic and overseas operationsserviced by Group Legal to ensure these reflect current practicesand changes in relevant laws/ regulations (where same is nothandled by Compliance).
  • Plan direct and managethe activities of assigned professional and nonprofessionalpersonnel in Group Legal. Delegate assignments and providecounseling and guidance in the performance of theirwork.
  • Monitor the local / internationalregulatory environment as applicable and assess the impact ofrelated changes on the overall Group risk profile (where same isnot handled by Compliance).
  • Assist allbusiness areas with the preparation of template documentation wherethe volume of transactions justifies this.
  • Approves (with or without external legal consultants) documentationwhere standard documentation is not available or where deviationsfrom standard documentation are required.
  • Ensure provision of wellresearched legal advice to all departmentswithin the Group on matters relating to Groups transactions and itsIP/IT rights.
  • Ensure the maintenance of adatabase of the Groups legal documentation.
  • Provide legal opinion on new activities and products and on complexIP/IT issues (including legal data privacyconcerns).
  • Act within the limits of the powersdelegated to the incumbent and delegate authority to the respectivedepartmental / unit heads and monitor exercise of thesame.
  • Develop and implement adequatemonitoring system from Group Legals perspective to ensure that QNBGroups interests are safeguarded. Work in close liaison with otherunits in the Group in identifying potential opportunities todevelop a culture of Legal awareness across theGroup.
Enter Details:
  • University degree in law from a recognizeduniversity.
  • At least 8 years legal experiencein the legal profession
  • Competence in severallegal areas of concentration with maturity and soundjudgement.
  • Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills in English and Arabic(must).
  • Excellent negotiationskills.
  • Welldeveloped analytical andinterpersonal skills.
  • Selfmotivated eye fordetail.
