The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced English Teacher to cover a Maternity Leave from August 2024 to January 2025.

The English Faculty at Doha College is a cohesive team delivering a comprehensive English curriculum aligned with the English National Curriculum, customized to meet the needs of our diverse student body. Our Key Stage 4 students follow the Edexcel IGCSE English Language A and English Literature courses, while at Key Stage 5, we offer international A-levels in Edexcel English Literature and Language.

Moreover, the English department provides various extracurricular activities such as COBIS writing competitions, an annual Poetry Evening, and engagement in essay writing, public speaking, and debating events with local and global schools. Additionally, we publish the 'Majlis,' a student-centric 'magazine' now available online.

Your Profile

As an English Teacher at Doha College, you will lead a wide range of English classes, making learning enjoyable for all students. We seek individuals who exhibit a genuine enthusiasm for language and literature, serving as role models for both students and colleagues. Qualified candidates must hold teacher certification with a specialization in English.

Given that we are an English-medium school, a high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English is imperative. Candidates should be eager to actively contribute to the school's vision, including participation in extracurricular programs.
