Job Description

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will assist paramedics and nurses with assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect clinical care to patients. With the support of paramedics and clinical staff the EMT will utilize their expertise of evidenced based medical practice to manage unexpected and emergent situations and to mitigate and treat a variety of injuries and illnesses in a prompt and professional manner. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, the ability to work in high-pressure environments, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Respond promptly to emergency calls and effectively assess the situation and patient condition.
  2. Administer basic life support (BLS) and perform medical procedures within the scope of practice, such as CPR, bleeding control, and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
  3. Assist in the transportation of patients to medical facilities, ensuring safety and comfort during transit.
  4. Gather patient information and medical history through interviews and consultations with patients and family members.
  5. Monitor and record vital signs and other relevant patient data.
  6. Maintain and restock medical supplies and equipment in the ambulance and at the station.
  7. Collaborate with paramedics, nurses, and other healthcare staff to provide effective patient care.
  8. Document all patient interactions, treatments provided, and the patient's response for medical records and reporting purposes.
  9. Drive the ambulance in accordance with local traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards while responding to emergency calls.
  10. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the ambulance to ensure it is in good working condition, including checking fuel levels, fluid levels, and medical equipment supplies.
  11. Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatch, EMTs, and other emergency personnel to coordinate responses and provide updates on transport status.
  12. Assist with the safe and appropriate loading and unloading of patients into and out of the ambulance, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport.
  13. Provide assistance during patient assessment and care, ensuring that necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
  14. Maintain accurate records related to vehicle maintenance, mileage, and any incidents that occur during transportation.
  15. Maintain inventory by checking stock and determining sufficient levels; anticipating needed supplies.
  16. Crosstrain to work within the clinics, emergency room and inpatient units.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  1. U.S. state licensed EMTs, with National Registry, or current unrestricted license or equivalent experience.
  2. Basic Life Support (BLS).
  3. Ability to work in a high stress environment and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
  4. Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Education Required:
  1. Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification or country of record equivalent.
Physical Demands:
  1. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  2. Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  3. May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
  1. Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  2. This position is unaccompanied.
  3. The ability to obtain a base security clearance.
  4. Must be able to relocate to Qatar.
  5. A valid passport from Country of Record is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Qatar.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
