We are seeking Kindergarten Teachers to join our vibrant educational community. Job Description

Job Title: Kindergarten Teachers

Accountable to: Head of Lower School

Safeguarding and Welfare of Students

  4. Incorporate the school's vision, mission, and values into working practice.

Responsibilities:

  1. Create and maintain a nurturing, safe, and engaging classroom environment appropriate for kindergarten-aged children.
  2. Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with our American curriculum standards and early childhood best practices.
  3. Foster early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning through play-based and structured learning experiences.
  4. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, styles, and developmental stages.
  5. Establish daily classroom routines that promote independence, cooperation, and self-regulation.
  6. Communicate regularly with parents through conferences, progress reports, newsletters, and digital platforms.
  7. Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques and age-appropriate strategies.
  8. Collaborate with teaching assistants to ensure smooth classroom operations and individualized student support.
  9. Prepare students for transition to Grade 1 by developing foundational academic and social skills.
  10. Participate in school community events and parent education programs.
  11. Contribute to curriculum development and review processes.
  12. Maintain an organized classroom with engaging learning centers and developmentally appropriate materials.
  13. Ensure student health and safety by adhering to school policies and reporting concerns promptly.
  14. Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training as required.

Pastoral Care

  1. Implement the Behavior Policy to drive excellent behavior in the classroom.
  2. Support the culture of high attendance and high achievement.
  3. Ensure a high level of provision for the pastoral needs and well-being of every pupil.
  4. Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies as required.

Community

  1. Be fully committed to The Experience, our broad and robust co-curricular program.
  2. Promote a positive, purposeful, professional working environment that encourages collaboration and cooperation.
  3. Develop opportunities that allow participation with the broader school community and beyond.

Teachers shall carry out their professional responsibilities, including those duties particularly assigned by the Head of Lower School as set out above but not restricted to them. The post holder may be required to undertake other duties as reasonably required by the school.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field.
  2. Three or more years of elementary teaching experience, preferably in an international environment.
  3. Experience with the American curriculum & Common Core Standards and inquiry-based learning approaches for early childhood education.
  4. Knowledge of child development principles and early learning pedagogy.
  5. Experience with play-based learning approaches and developmentally appropriate practices.
  6. Strong classroom management skills appropriate for young learners.
  7. Excellent communication skills.
  8. Experience using observation and assessment techniques for early childhood.
  9. Ability to create stimulating learning environments for young children.
  10. Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  11. Cultural sensitivity and experience working in diverse settings.
  12. Patient, energetic, and passionate about early childhood education.
  13. Fluency in English is required.
  14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  15. Experience integrating technology into teaching and learning practices to enhance student engagement and achievement.
  16. Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development, including participation in workshops, conferences, and other learning opportunities.
