Overview:

We are looking to hire a Subsea Engineer (Pipeline) for an oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar.

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant oil and gas industry experience in a similar role. Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. The incumbent is responsible for executing all phases of emergency pipeline repair lifecycle activities, including but not limited to pipeline identification & criticality report assessment, advising client Asset/JV partners in pipeline blowdown/depressurization/isolation when a pipeline leak is notified, performing leak detection activity, establishing preliminary damage assessment and repair method selection, executing damage metrology survey and temporary leak containment repair execution, permanent repair execution, repair testing and acceptance, pre-commissioning and post-repair baseline inspection, assisting in re-commissioning and re-introduction of hydrocarbon into the pipeline system safely.
  2. Responsible for the Subsea Pipeline Specialized Repair work within EPRS Division to ensure the readiness and adequacy of resources for immediate intervention of any pipeline repair requirement.
  3. Support the preparation of EPRS/5 Years CAPEX, OPEX, and Master Procurement Plan (MPP).
  4. Act as Technical Assurance and be responsible for the execution of Subsea Pipeline Specialized Repair Engineering works and associated activities.
  5. Responsible for the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Subsea Pipeline Specialized Repair Engineering Management System, Standards, Guidelines, Procedures, and Manual.
  6. Responsible for routine Subsea Pipeline Specialized Repair engineering readiness and resource adequacy checks to ensure swift response to any emergency pipeline repair requirements.
  7. Responsible for the development of project and technical documents, as well as for the technical assurance and quality management of technical documents prepared by contractors.
  8. Responsible for interfacing with Contractor, Asset Team, and JV partners to ensure smooth planning, execution, and Close-out reports submission for subsea pipeline specialized repair engineering works and associated activities.
  9. Responsible for preparation of material specifications/datasheets, inspection requirements, drafting technical specifications for EPC/maintenance scopes for procurement purposes, including but not limited to site visits, spool fabrication, and site supervision.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Subsea Engineering, or other similar disciplines relating to upstream oil and gas from a recognised university.
  2. Minimum ten (10) years of relevant oil and gas industry experience in a similar role.
  3. Knowledge of relevant international standards and Codes of Practice, Shell DEP and competence in the design, specification, repair, and selection of pipeline systems.
  4. Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer with professional bodies of Engineers is desired.
  5. Computer literate.
  6. Good command of English; shall read, write, and speak fluent English.
  7. Experienced in pipeline integrity and management systems and of managing, maintaining, and coordinating offshore subsea inspection team.
  8. Extensive knowledge and field experience in subsea pipeline inspection, repair & maintenance (IRM) techniques and equipment.
  9. The role holder will be responsible for providing advanced level of technical expertise in resolving complex technical issues related to subsea pipeline operations and maintenance.
  10. Experienced in leading technical role and supervision of subsea pipeline engineers and associated technical staff.
  11. Ability to handle multiple tasks with appropriate priority.
  12. Self-starter/self-management/self-drive and ability to work without close monitoring.
  13. Resilient under pressure (both internal and external).
  14. Strong ability to deal with competing priorities and complex issues.
