Project Controls/Systems Manager – British Consultancy

Reporting to the Lead Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting for the delivery of a QAR 10 billion portfolio of education, medical, marine, and general building projects for Government clients. A key function is management of the PWA interface with the Programme Management Consultant (PMC).

Duties:

  1. Management of reporting to achieve a high standard of corporate governance in accordance with PWA policies, standards, and procedures. This includes working closely with PWA departments and the PMC.
  2. Develop and maintain the Master Reporting Calendar showing timings and responsibilities for all required reports.
  3. Managing and coordinating the production of reports, instructions, transmittals, and other reporting mechanisms to ensure all reports are accurate and validated.
  4. Regular report updates, and preparation of weekly and monthly ad hoc reports as required.
  5. Review of reports prepared by PMC, consultants, and contractors.
  6. Oversee and analyse reports prepared by the PMC.
  7. Coordinate reporting issues with PMC and PWA.
  8. Line Management: Responsible for a small team of reporting staff who will also provide support for PWA managed projects.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. University degree from a recognised university in an appropriate field such as engineering, construction management, project management, or quantity surveying. Degrees in other relevant fields will also be considered.
  2. Experience of reporting across various projects.
  3. Solid P6 capabilities i.e. a Planner by trade.
  4. Solid programme controls and systems expertise – have the ability to develop and implement your own reporting systems.
  5. Ability to establish sound working relationships to ensure feedback on the PMC/contractor monthly reports are duly communicated to the PMC/contractors for action.
  6. A minimum of 10 years' experience in monitoring and reporting for the design and construction of major new building programmes.
  7. Experience in monitoring and supporting the reporting function of consultants and contractors from the client side, preferably within a government agency.
  8. Experience in the application of Primavera P6 and Primavera Contracts Manager on major building projects.
  9. Have good knowledge and experience of the project lifecycle for building projects in respect of planning, schedule, and cost control.
  10. Experience of working in Qatar or the Gulf region is preferred.
