We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Qatar. In this role, your responsibilities will encompass a range of accounting functions, with a primary focus on upholding precision, adherence to regulatory standards, and the optimization of our financial processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  2. Month-end and Year-end Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all necessary adjustments, accruals, and reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  3. General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger and oversee the chart of accounts. Ensure proper coding of transactions and adherence to accounting standards.
  4. Accounts Receivable (AR) Process: Customer reconciliation and customer follow-up.
  5. Accounts Payable (AP) Process: Vendor reconciliation.
  6. Fixed Asset Accounting: Handle group fixed asset register including proper recording of depreciation.
  7. Bank Reconciliation: Deal with banks on a day-to-day basis and perform bank reconciliation.
  8. Petty Cash Accounting: Handle petty cash accounting.
  9. Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support external and internal audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of information. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  10. Corporate Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with provisions of corporate tax.
  11. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Streamline accounting procedures and develop best practices.
  12. Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on the analysis.
  13. Financial Systems Management: Oversee the maintenance and integrity of financial systems and software. Recommend enhancements or upgrades as needed.
  14. Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Any professional qualification like ACCA would be an added advantage.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a proven Senior Accountant or similar senior accounting role, including team management.
  3. Hands-on accounting expertise and a strong understanding of IFRS provisions.
  4. Should have working knowledge of Qatar Corporate Tax and other statutory compliances.
  5. Experience with ERP solutions, with a mandatory requirement for Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  6. Strong analytical skills.
  7. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  8. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Must have experience in team management.
  11. Experience in AR processes and accounting would be an added advantage.
  12. Must have experience in handling petty cash and fixed asset accounting in a multi-entity setup including the full process.
