Job Description

Wood has an opportunity for a Senior Piping Engineer to join our team in Qatar.

Responsibilities

  1. Reports to Lead Piping Engineer
  2. Provides coaching and mentoring for direct reports.
  3. Actively supports recruitment, selection, transfers, and promotion of resources to meet succession and business plans.
  4. Support the development and retention of motivated and competent people.
  5. Ensures competence of deputies.
  6. Manages performance of direct reports.
  7. Continuous promotion of and adherence to the discipline-specific procedures and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  8. Support the development and delivery of the technical safety standard expectations and technical assurance.
  9. Participate in incident investigations as required.
  10. Represent Operations EMEA discipline in the contract.
  11. Set performance expectations for direct reports.
  12. Actively maintain own competence and continuous development.
  13. Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
  14. Provide discipline support to the business.
  15. Ensure learning opportunities are captured and realized.
  16. Knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation.
  17. Proficient in scope definition.
  18. Identification of candidates of GTEN.
  19. Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities.
  20. Manage and direct resources efficiently and effectively.
  21. Interact with Multi-Discipline Engineering Teams.
Qualifications

  1. BSc., University in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 8 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas related static mechanical design and engineering.
  3. Performs as a professional mechanical engineer for projects and plant modifications from Front End Development through execution/commissioning and start-up. Past work experience should entail but not be limited to the following:
  4. Technical support for operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  5. Testing, installation, commissioning, and start-up of mechanical equipment.
  6. Design, selection, and specification of mechanical equipment.
  7. Experience in the Middle East; knowledge of GTL and LNG are an advantage, as is front-end and commissioning experience and execution.
  8. Proven leadership skills and strong personal drive in order to meet deadlines and specific targets.
  9. Team player with clear evidence of working with others to deliver on goals.
  10. Strong, and demonstrated, personal commitment to HSSE leadership and experience in managing HSSE throughout all project phases.
  11. Experience with project management.
  12. Ability to work and manage in a multi-cultural environment.
