About The Role

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Crew Resources team as a Crew Leave Specialist to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As a Crew Leave Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the crew leave process. This will involve allocating annual leave, advanced days off (AOFF) and privilege days off (POFF), ensuring a balance between crew preferences and operational requirements. You will maintain and enhance our in-house leave system (TOPS), collaborating with IT to scope, test, and implement system improvements. In this role, you will closely coordinate with HR, Crew Planning and Flight Operations management and effectively communicate with crew to address individual leave queries and providing insightful reports and analysis that are essential to support operational efficiency and crew satisfaction.

Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include

  1. Complete OPEX and CAPEX demand and capacity review including cost-benefit analysis, financial projections and supporting material to prepare annual CMC presentation in collaboration with Finance and IT to provision budget resources for Leave systems.
  2. Identify, scope and drive the prioritization, implementation, communication and adoption of Leave system and process enhancement requirements and opportunities in partnership with Human Resources, Flight Operations, Cabin Services and other internal customers in order to ensure effective, efficient and compliant systems and processes.
  3. Identify and ensure the timely resolution of Leave system faults in collaboration with the IT department to ensure complete system functionality and maintenance of standard operating procedure.
  4. Plan, coordinate and execute all Leave awards processes including ballots from end-to-end in collaboration with the IT and intradepartmental functional teams to ensure maximized stakeholder satisfaction while ensuring operational coverage.
  5. Provide stakeholders with Leave status updates including reports and analysis to facilitate stakeholder objectives including ensuring Leave compliance and operational coverage.
  6. Perform the timely update and sharing of Leave documentation and communication including manuals, presentations, training courses, communication templates and FAQs in collaboration with Human Resources, Flight Operations, Cabin Services and other internal customers to ensure that there are no gaps or inconsistencies in information.
  7. Resolve stakeholders' Leave queries and concerns in compliance with service level agreements and standard operating procedure through problem solving or using available systems and tools to ensure maximized stakeholder satisfaction and communicated resolution.
  8. Complete systems testing in partnership with the IT department to ensure seamless implementation of Leave system solutions.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  1. Relevant College or University qualification with a minimum of 5 years job-related experience.
  2. Experience of relevant work experience in Crew planning related role.
  3. Experience leading system changes and automation.
  4. Experience in process mapping and design.
  5. Experience using crew tracking systems and systems testing.
  6. Experience in awarding leave to a large remote workforce.
  7. Fundamental understanding of Finance concepts (e.g. cost-benefit analysis).
  8. Excellent problem solving and analysis skills.
  9. Advanced level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills.
  10. Excellent command of spoken and written English.
