Specialist, Business Continuity Management

The job holder shall be responsible to maintain and prepare business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and solutions, including risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures. Plan, conduct, and debrief regular mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies, updating procedures and plans regularly. Act as a coordinator for continuity efforts after a disruption event.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the development of business continuity plans (BCP).
  2. Identification of business continuity requirements and solutions.
  3. Identification of risks to business continuity, mitigation actions and implementation follow-up.
  4. Manage the annual business continuity test plan.
  5. Develop and maintain training and awareness program and collateral.
  6. Main all administration of the BCM System.
  7. Identify improvements opportunities to the BCM System.
  8. Assume management responsibility for Business Contingency planning efforts with a major focus on assuring the adequacy of business unit contingency plans for critical business areas, functions and applications.
  9. Work with business unit management to enhance contingency plans, mitigating the effect of a technology system or application failure or problem.
  10. Perform periodic reviews and tests of established Business Continuity Plans and procedures, reporting findings to management and making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  11. Perform other duties as requested to meet the ongoing organizational needs.

Specific Working Conditions:

Office based job.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Computer Science/Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

Required Certification/ Licensure:

Industry certification in one or more of the following: BCI, PMI, CCSA, CISA, CA, CCSP, ISC, ITIL, etc.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of international BCM standards promoted by BCI and DR, and ISO.
  • A strong understanding of Operational risk and resilience, Business Process improvement methods as well as risk related control frameworks and practices (COCO, COSO, ISO, ITIL, CMM, COBIT, etc.).
  • All aspects including the delivery mechanisms and IT associated with each, and the technical and operations infrastructure.
  • Solid knowledge of IT and Operations Audit methodology.
  • Corporate Policies and Standards of BMO and its operating subsidiaries.
  • Solid understanding of the Operational Risk Management methodology and CSA related requirements.

Language Skills:

Advanced level of Arabic and English language.

Computer Skills:

Advanced level skills in Microsoft office applications, intense research on field, analytic assessment skills, health industry knowledge.
