Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

1. Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service.
2. Communicate with Engineering Management and Team Leader regarding possible improvements and increased efficiency.
3. Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance programs for various systems of accommodation.
4. Co-ordinate/inform Engineering Management and Team Leader about any disruptions to be serviced.
5. Utilize safe work practices, efficient methods, proper preventative maintenance and repair to equipment.
6. Clean and maintain areas of responsibility according to set standards and procedures.
7. Responsible for the cleanliness of Public Area at the Accommodation.
8. Ensure that all the Assets of Accommodation (Housekeeping and Engineering) are in proper state and not being misused.
9. Maintain equipment in a proper state of cleanliness and repair.
10. Attend daily briefings with Supervisor and take on daily assigned tasks.
11. Report lost and found articles to the Housing Manager/Assistant Accommodation Manager immediately.
12. Handle Colleague complaints and report them to Supervisor immediately.
13. Record room status in allocated section accurately.
14. Comply with Hotel's health, safety and hygiene policy.
15. Adhere to personnel grooming and hygiene standards.
16. Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
17. Any additional duties assigned.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

1. Previous experience is an asset.
2. High School graduate, related technical or trades certification.
3. At least 2 years' experience as a service technician, preferably in the hospitality or hospital industry.
4. Proficient in MV/LV repair and maintenance plus basic knowledge of one other building operations skill set.
5. The ability to use all general repair tools, read shop drawings and specifications, and make rough estimates of required materials.
6. The ability to work independently with good interpersonal skills.
7. A creative, practical and pro-active approach to problem solving.
8. An energetic and dynamic personality.
