About the role:

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Group Risk, Safety & Security team as a Geopolitical Threat & Risk Manager to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As a Geopolitical Threat & Risk Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the intelligence research and analysis function of the Qatar Airways Geopolitical Threat and Risk team. You will also be responsible for monitoring global geopolitical events to identify potential security threats to QR people, assets and operations to support decision making.

Specific responsibilities for the role include:

• Support the implementation of the team's short, medium- and long-term strategy to ensure alignment with company and departmental strategic objectives.
• Manage the process of intelligence collection, development, analysis and assessment, monitor global geopolitical events to identify, analyse and assess security threats to QR people, assets and operations.
• Supervise the production of analytical products to provide strategic outlook and forecasting in the context of global security threats across the Qatar Airways network.
• Coordinate the periodic 'strategic' review of airspace and/or ground based security threats and the delivery of outcomes to relevant stakeholder groups.
• Ensure a continual review of security threats to Qatar Airways operations, people, and assets within host state territory and its airspace through the Global Security Risk Register (GSRR) to maintain a strategic threat picture.
• Utilize a variety of communication platforms including: GEMS City Risk Profiles; Security Briefings, Bulletins and Advisories; and Memos, in order to communicate timely and accurate strategic security threat information to Qatar Airways people and senior management.
• Support the strategic assessment of proposed new Qatar Airways stations and charter destination to identify security threats and vulnerabilities in respect of Qatar Airways operations, people and assets.
• Manage the assessment of security threats to Qatar Airways, through the production of airspace and ground assessments, to support operational decision making and ensure the implementation of appropriate response measures.
• Support the 24/7 Threat and Risk team 'on call' capability to ensure sufficient coverage and a timely response to security incidents and crisis events across the Qatar Airways network.

Qualifications

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Relevant College or University qualification with a minimum of 6 years of job-related experience.
• Experience in providing advice on geo-political security issues, including, terrorism, conflict, crime and civil unrest.
• Experience in security intelligence analysis.
• Experience in aviation security threat and risk management will be highly desirable.
• Strong grasp of intelligence and data analytical techniques and research skills.
• Demonstrable understanding of threat and risk assessment methodologies.
• Highly developed report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to converse, influence and maintain dialogue with managers, staff and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizing/planning and analysis skills.
• Sound working knowledge of MS Office applications including, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
