BIM Coordinator assists the BIM Specialist in coordination and execution of BIM projects. He coordinates data sets / workflows within the project setup and communicates effectively and offers cross-team support. Setup linked models and coordinate models across disciplines.

Your Tasks

  1. Execute BIM workflow and ensure that any potential issues during modelling, clash detection and data conversion are dealt with efficiently.
  2. Setup project-specific guidelines for BIM Technicians and be responsible for linking information across disciplines.
  3. Proficient in using BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring required to the project team.
  4. Manage and maintain project content and source any additional content as required.
  5. Assign information requirements to stakeholders and support the BIM Specialist activities.
  6. Understand and ensure any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams.
  7. Communicate effectively and offer support across project teams.
  8. Coordinate production and reviews of information models across disciplines.
  9. Information model quantity extraction and verification.
  10. Perform 4D construction sequencing/simulation using Autodesk Navisworks or Synchro.
  11. Assist staff in the department and provide technical support.
  12. Ensure that the design standards align with CAD/BIM/GIS strategy and link appropriately with the wider business.
  13. Provide guidance and assistance with design projects to ensure they are setup and progress optimally.
  14. Assist in monitoring and reporting BIM implementation within the Department.
  15. Coordinate and align with the Corporate BIM team in PWA.

Your Profile

  1. University degree from a recognized university in an appropriate field such as Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or equivalent.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  3. Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience in architecture or civil engineering on major buildings and/or infrastructure (roads, drainage) projects.
  4. Minimum of 5 years' experience in BIM projects and software like (e.g., Revit/Civil3D, Navisworks, Solibri, Synchro).
  5. Arabic language skills.
  6. Driver's License.
  7. Experience of working in Qatar and/or the Gulf region.
  8. In-depth knowledge of BIM procedures with a good understanding of integration from/to BIM with other applications.
  9. Technically proficient in all aspects of BIM and interfacing and interpreting engineering requirements.
  10. Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures, both internally and with various project stakeholders.
  11. Knowledge of using information models for measurement, construction scheduling, and cost management is desirable.
  12. Demonstrable expertise in creation, analysis, and simulation of information models, within the project delivery and asset operation lifecycle.
  13. Advanced skills in software supporting the creation, analysis, simulation e.g., Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks.
  14. Knowledge in software for automation of routines to support standards and improve productivity like Synchro, CATO/Cost X, Solibri, Infraworks, Dynamo is desirable.
  15. Expertise in clash detection and coordination of all services per design standards.
  16. Experience in model-based drawing production.
  17. Knowledge of 3D rendering and visualization.
  18. Knowledge of COBie specification and ability to export files from models.
  19. Expertise in content creation such as parametric families and type catalogues.
