Department: Healthcare Quality Management.

Job Summary: The job holder shall be responsible to develop and manage patient safety programs and activities, patient safety measures and identifying key areas for improvement in patient safety.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop standardized quality related policies at healthcare facilities to ensure patient safety and healthcare acquired infection control.
  2. Identify key areas for improvement in patient safety and develop under supervision the patient safety program.
  3. Participate in developing quality-related performance measures including structure, process, outcome and patient safety.
  4. Provide regular reporting on these quality-related performance measures.
  5. Prepare mandated patient related Occurrence Variance Reports for healthcare facilities in line with MOPH's policy.
  6. Ensure implementation of comprehensive patient safety programs to reduce harm to patients and prevent adverse outcomes through detecting adverse events.
  7. Recommend improvements for key areas in patient safety in healthcare facilities.
  8. Act as a point of contact for the internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper coordination with other departments where needed.
  9. Develop training programs for the development and capability building of the Patient Safety and Risk Management team with the support of management.
  10. Report regularly to senior management or other departments where needed on departmental data, performance KPIs and progress on projects.
  11. Perform other duties as requested to meet the ongoing organizational needs.

Specific Working Conditions: Office based job, might need to attend meetings outside the ministry.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's and master's degree in health-related field.

Required Certification/ Licensure: CPHQ and/or equivalent certification preferred.

Minimum 7 years' experience in health-related field.

Language Skills: Advanced level in English; Arabic is preferred.

Computer Skills: Advanced level skills in MS Office Applications.

Health industry knowledge.
