GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for all maintenance planning and coordination of equipment maintenance facilities with the Sr. Supervisor - Workshop.
  • Assist and plan with all departments regarding the general working aspects of equipment maintenance facilities.
  • Ensure that the short and long term objectives of the workshop maintenance divisions are achieved through high quality and reliable maintenance personnel and service.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities and reports pertaining to the maintenance operations of equipment.
  • Report to the Sr. Supervisor Workshop on the progress and issues with maintenance facilities and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee and manage the repair and maintenance of equipment while ensuring an accurate log of all service activities.
  • Ensure MCS is updated at all times with the most accurate equipment status.
  • Carry out a physical check on the system to ensure recorded data is up to date and accurate.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with equipment repairs as required and oversee the planning and coordination of maintenance jobs.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities and coordinate with Mechanical supervisors for task completion.
  • Read and interpret documents and drawings.
  • Complete and present detailed repair reports to the Sr. Workshop Supervisor.
  • Work with the line manager to assess job nature and allocate tasks based on in-house competence for quickest turnaround time.
  • Update MCS daily with total cost estimates for labor, material, and outside services.
  • Work with Mechanical Supervisors to determine resource availability.
  • Engage with operation teams to finalize work order priorities, achieve minimum downtime, and establish necessary lead times.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated for safe, timely, and cost-effective maintenance programs.
  • Report non-conformance to management and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Communicate regularly with all maintenance personnel regarding maintenance issues.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews to assess competency, knowledge, and contributions of maintenance personnel.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's QHSE Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure safety targets and zero tolerance for unsafe working practices and conditions.
  • Decline requests to perform unsafe work practices that may result in damage to machinery, people, or property.
  • Possess working knowledge of blueprints and heavy equipment systems such as generators, air conditioning, specialized lighting, air compressors, high-pressure pumps, and air dryers.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and applying information in technical manuals and other documents.
  • Effective communication skills to deliver presentations and communicate issues clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems arising from asset repair and maintenance.
  • High level of self-motivation with superior organization and leadership skills.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of blueprints and heavy equipment systems such as generators, air conditioning, specialized lighting, air compressors, high-pressure pumps, and air dryers.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and applying information in technical manuals and other documents.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations and communicate issues clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems arising from asset repair and maintenance.
  • High level of self-motivation with superior organization and leadership skills.
  • 8+ years of work experience in an administrative/supervisory role, preferably in heavy-duty equipment maintenance planning or field work.
