Job Responsibilities
  1. Perform and carry out the hotel preventive maintenance plan for all HVAC equipment, including cleaning and lubricating the equipment.
  2. Respond immediately to guest complaints.
  3. Maintain charging equipment, refrigeration test equipment, and HVAC tools in good condition.
  4. Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings in case of emergency.
  5. Follow all job instructions given by the Shift Engineer or other Senior Staff.
  6. Report any serious maintenance problems or safety-related issues to the Shift Engineer immediately.
  7. Follow duty schedule/Split duty and carry out any other assignments given by the Chief Engineer as business demands.
  8. Understand control principles of all HVAC and refrigeration systems and regularly test, repair, and calibrate.
  9. Verify building area temperatures, adjust as necessary, and record on the Duty Log sheet.
  10. Communicate each day's activities and problems that occur to the other shift using approved communication programs and standards.
  11. Complete major and minor services on A/C and refrigeration equipment as assigned and return the completed job sheets to the Engineering Office.
  12. Thoroughly investigate each job as assigned to ensure that only the necessary spare parts are used and to avoid unnecessary wastage of AC and refrigeration supplies.
  13. Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment. Attend all departmental trainings and other training programs.
  14. Report work-related accidents or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to the shift in charge.
  15. Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and use correct lifting procedures as necessary to avoid injury. Follow hazardous material management program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals using material safety data sheets. Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to the Shift in charge. Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines. Complete appropriate fire and safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
  16. Be available for any emergencies and act in a professional manner to protect the guests, staff, and preserve the hotel property and its systems. Follow the hotel crisis plan.
  17. Complete the personal daily job record book accurately and keep it ready for inspection.
  18. Participate in new equipment installation projects.
  19. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Follow the clean as you go policy. Keep all working areas neat and tidy. Store all tools and materials in a safe and secure place. While working in guest and public areas, special attention is required to protect surrounding areas from any damage and inconvenience to the guests. During site work, do not leave any materials and tools unattended.
