Job Overview: The Financial Accountant at Noble House Training & Services plays a key role in managing the finance function for our group of companies while managing the financial records of the companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Financial Accountant handles the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss reports, and assists with audits, budgeting, and tax filings. The role requires close attention to detail and a deep understanding of financial accounting principles in the retail sector.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers, and trial balances.
  2. Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable on a regular basis.
  3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
  4. Ensure that financial reports are accurate, complete, and prepared in a timely manner.
  5. General Ledger Management:
  6. Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded properly.
  7. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  8. Budgeting & Forecasting:
  9. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  10. Analyze variances between actual financial results and budgets, providing explanations for discrepancies.
  11. Tax & Compliance:
  12. Prepare and file all necessary tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  13. Stay updated on tax regulations and make recommendations for tax planning strategies.
  14. Audit Support:
  15. Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries.
  16. Ensure compliance with audit requirements and implement any necessary corrective actions.
  17. Asset Management:
  18. Maintain records of company assets and ensure proper accounting for depreciation and disposal of fixed assets.
  19. Monitor and report on the company's financial status regarding assets and liabilities.
  20. Cross-functional Support:
  21. Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, sales, and operations, to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business objectives.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in the retail sector.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  4. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  5. Experience in preparing financial statements, managing general ledgers, and conducting reconciliations.
  6. Excellent analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
