Primary Roles And Responsibilities
  1. Knows the project and discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.
  2. Implements innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence.
  3. Supports Lead Engineer in monitoring quality activities and takes action where required.
  4. Manage safety design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
  5. Prepare and participate in weekly discipline meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
  6. Review and approve all related technical documents and coordinate with the Lead Engineer.
  7. Management, technical execution and completion of engineering assigned tasks in the specific safety discipline area.
  8. Execute verification, studies and detail design following best engineering practices and optimization in terms of cost, construction simplicity, operability and maintainability, HSSE.
  9. CTR Management & progress reporting, Estimation of work scopes & CTR.
  10. Proactively seek an understanding of the safety hazards and risks associated with the asset lifecycle of the designed product, plant or structure.
  11. Support discipline man-hours estimates for new proposal and development of deliverables lists.
  12. To deliver the disciplines design deliverables within the man-hour budget.
  13. Prepare Equipment specification (i.e. Fire-fighting, Life saving).
  14. Complete Risk Assessments for clients using Excel spreadsheets or visual basic programs (SMORM & HARRI) developed by Worley Safety & Risk Management.
  15. Develop Event Tree & Fault Tree as appropriate to meet client requirements.
  16. Provide recommendations to assist client management with regard to safety and risk issues.
Quality Assurance
  1. Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
Safety
  1. Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
QualificationsIndustry Specific Experience:
  1. Minimum 12 years of safety design in onshore/offshore oil & gas industry in a brownfield environment.
  2. Performs as a professional Safety & Risk engineer for projects and plant modifications from Front End Development through execution, commissioning and start-up.
  3. Recent experience in an engineering consultancy in a multidiscipline environment is essential.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
  1. Full-Time Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
