About the role
The Masterdata Specialist is responsible for executing and managing Retail masterdata in ERP and subordinate systems, ensuring a structured and consistent data pool for business management, reporting, and analysis. The job will develop and implement data management strategies, ensuring data accuracy, defining data standards, and overseeing data governance policies.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Define a data management strategy applicable to Retail business to ensure effective data collection, storage, analysis, and utilization.
- Ensure data standards are defined to enable high quality and consistency of master data, to meet business requirements for management, reporting, and analysis.
- Manage master data governance, including establishing data owners and supporting data stewards.
- Receive data requests from Procurement team and ensure these are properly entered in ERP and subordinate systems, particularly regarding Master Item creation, Category, Vendor and Brand creation, new promotion creation, and any necessary subsequent changes.
- Take full ownership of data quality, accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data throughout its lifecycle and manage internal and external stakeholders to achieve this purpose, ensuring that all data is collected, processed, and maintained according to these standards.
- Enforce areas of responsibility between masterdata team and Procurement to ensure that each group operates effectively and efficiently within their respective roles by establishing well-defined boundaries and expectations.
- Engage with Business Functions (Procurement and Planning) to clearly define scope of responsibility and identify gaps in Data Ownership framework.
- Monitor and analyze master data quality metrics and identify opportunities for improvement, as the quality of this data directly impacts decision-making, operational efficiency, and overall business performance.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
Qualifications
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
- Significant experience in Master Data Management and/or Data Quality initiatives with proven experience in governance.
Job Specific Skills:
- Skilled in creating and documenting standards, processes, and data models
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, fluency in spoken and written English; any additional language is an advantage
- Familiar with Data Quality dimensions and Data Management Maturity model
- Ability to collaborate with multiple diverse teams
