As a Senior Manager Aircraft Interiors, you will be responsible for conceptualizing designs, planning, developing, and managing a portfolio of products and services. You will direct and execute to oversee and monitor the QR vision into tangible and implementable hard product design concepts for Qatar Airways fleet aircraft cabin interiors.

Lead aircraft interiors product development process relating to the cabin product across all customer touchpoints in cabin LOPA, seats, lavatories, galleys, IFE & connectivity, storage, and monuments. Manage all aspects related to the cabin for new and in-service aircraft. This role has a direct impact on improving our NPS and CSAT scores for the onboard customer experience.

Other key responsibilities are:

Strategic

  1. Develop medium and long-term aircraft interiors strategy and plans aligned to Qatar Airways' corporate vision. Consider the organization's long-term strategic roadmap to support new product designs.
  2. Implement all cabin definition and seat programs quality and business plans.
  3. Responsible for developing research-based design to continuously improve current aircraft interior products and generate ideas for new product concepts.
  4. Create and implement best practices for design vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to enhance operational performance.
  5. Direct the business unit in researching and creating new products that reflect QR's brand values, ensuring high standards are embraced by executive management across the airline.
  6. Drive the identification and evaluation of new market opportunities, emerging technologies, and customer needs to inform cabin interiors development initiatives.
  7. Foster a culture of innovation and design thinking within the department, encouraging creative problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Operational

  1. Define and develop all customer-facing products for each cabin class.
  2. Lead the creation and execution of product roadmaps, ensuring effective prioritization, resource allocation, and timely delivery of key milestones.
  3. Work closely with the technical project team to create interior specifications for all new aircraft fleet in terms of seats, galleys, lavatories, trim and finish – ensuring that Qatar Airways brand and vision are exemplified with world-class aircraft.
  4. Represent QR at all milestones of new aircraft programs meetings with Boeing/Airbus and associated suppliers.
  5. Lead internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and partners through brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and workshops to ensure the success of the final product.
  6. Analyze and evaluate CRM/EVR data to meet the expectations of our customers.
  7. Lead internal and external teams in terms of product and service specifications, quality versus price, sustainability, and overall look and feel.
  8. Collaborate with departments involved in product and service testing to determine end-user acceptance.
  9. Provide project status updates to executive management and other stakeholders as required.
  10. Facilitate and evaluate all tender submissions and work with Technical Projects through to final selection and implementation of the product.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Product Development & Design Team.

  • Minimum qualification of bachelor's degree or equivalent is essential.
  • Background in a related industrial design field.
  • 10+ years of job-related experience in aircraft interiors development with a focus on premium airlines.
  • Strong knowledge of OEM and aircraft development processes is critical.
  • Good knowledge of materials and technologies used for aircraft definitions.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality and/or full-service airline environment.
  • Experience in product development.
  • Strong sense of aesthetics, design principles, understanding of ergonomics, and user requirements.
  • Proven experience managing and delivering with culturally diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated skills to communicate confidently and impactfully to senior and/or department stakeholders.
