About Role:

The Landscape Supervisor is responsible for supervising the planting, upkeep, and enhancement of the outdoor spaces of a facility to improve its appearance. The role holder ensures that the gardens and lawns are well-maintained and transformed into functional areas. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring that the facility adheres to high standards, making it attractive and aligning with the facility's landscaping vision.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule work based on seasonal needs and weather to ensure landscape aesthetics and plant health.
  • Develop landscape processes under the Landscape Manager's guidance, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Supervise landscape feature design, plant selection, and maintenance tasks like weed control and trimming.
  • Install and maintain irrigation systems for proper lawn and garden watering.
  • Manage plant programs, including purchasing, maintaining, and supplying plants for events.
  • Monitor plant and turf health, addressing pest or disease issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of work, expenses, and materials.
  • Inspect landscape equipment and report issues to the engineering department.
  • Ensure a steady supply of plants, fertilizers, soil, and chemicals.
  • Prepare various reports (daily, monthly, incident reports, etc.) on work progress and challenges.
  • Coordinate the procurement of materials and supplies in consultation with the manager.
  • Support the hiring and training of team members, ensuring safe work practices.
  • Supervise team activities, providing progress updates to management.
  • Issue permits, provide safety oversight, and support special projects as needed.

Desired Skill(s) & Competencies:

  • Knowledge of plants, fertilizers, soil, and pesticides
  • Knowledge of landscaping principles
  • Knowledge of colour schemes and plant arrangements
  • Working knowledge of MS Office package
  • Strong team management skills.
  • Good knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is essential for understanding technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and address issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Hands-on field experience in Facilities Management is preferred.
  • Commitment to safety and attention to detail.

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some roles may require a degree in horticulture, landscape management, or a related field).

Working Conditions:

  • Work is typically outdoors and may require working in various weather conditions.
  • This role may involve lifting heavy objects, working with chemicals, and standing for long periods.
