Doha, Baladīyat ad Dawḩah, Qatar AECOM LIMITED Full time

AECOM are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us on an Orbital Highway project in Qatar.

The main purpose of this role will be to support all commercial matters relating to a major highways project.

Key duties will include:
  1. Monitoring contractors' cost control procedures throughout the duration of the project including the design phase, construction phase, and final accounts.
  2. Implementing and maintaining all required cost control and audit procedures for all project cost control activities designed to measure the project status.
  3. Assessing, evaluating, and making recommendations related to any financial claim and providing the necessary input with regards to settling such claims.
  4. Evaluating all variations.
  5. Monthly cost reports.
  6. Preparing and pricing change orders and negotiating agreements with the Client and Contractor as necessary.
  7. Negotiating contracts with the contractor in partnership with the Commercial Manager and Contracts Manager.
  8. Conducting viability studies and cost estimates.
  9. Chairing and recording cost review meetings with Contractors.
  10. Providing assistance to the team during negotiations, arbitration, or any other forms of dispute resolution.
Minimum Requirements:

Ideal candidate must possess:

  1. A BSc in Quantity Surveying and RICS.
  2. 10 years of experience working on large Highway Construction Projects.
  3. Experience in claims arbitration procedures.
  4. Planning major projects.
  5. Computer literate and expert Primavera user.
