Summary: Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, the Credit Portfolio & Data Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining a Risk database to ensure data quality and cleanliness of the risk data. Also, will assist with the monitoring of the Group's loan book by performing in-depth credit portfolio analysis across various products to assess risk and opportunities and validate and refine credit policies.
Role has 2 parts:
Credit Portfolio Analyst:
- Undertake all Qatar Central Bank monthly & adhoc reporting requests (including Fitch) within the stipulated timeframes and assume the Risk champion role for new regulatory mandates and/or credit bureau enhancements.
- Perform UAT and quality assurance checks on various risk initiatives, and be the key support person for the Risk Control & Self Assessment programme.
- Support the overall health of the Bank's lending portfolios by creating early warning indicators / key risk indicators which highlight those segments for proactive management that are showing weak performance traits.
- Where required, provide assistance and advice to other departments for any risk-related projects.
- Ensure monthly loss forecasting, reporting and any adhoc requests are updated and enhanced as appropriate.
- Maintain a Risk register for amendments to credit policy, credit instructions and delegation authorities and ensure all affected departments are notified of such changes.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive risk database covering all on- and off-balance sheet transactions on a bank-wide basis.
- Develop front-end solutions to fully automate risk MIS reporting processes, which cover Credit Risk, Market Risk, Ops Risk, Liquidity Risk and Capital management.
- Work with ICT in implementing system interfaces between Core Banking System (e.g., T24 and Treasury Trader) with various data feeds and electronic dealing channels (e.g., Bloomberg).
Education: Bachelor Degree or higher in a Business/Finance/Economics or Mathematical/Statistical field.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in financial data analysis or Credit Risk Management.
Technical:
- Strong computing skills in MS Office suite and outstanding financial programming skills in VBA, C++, fluency in mathematical and statistical analysis software, and good understanding of risk monitoring and reporting processes.
- Strong portfolio analytical and financial analysis skills, with demonstrated ability to conceptualize and clearly communicate the analytical findings, both in writing and verbally.
- Knowledge and understanding of statistical modeling and analytical techniques, particularly scorecard/model development, implementation, testing and monitoring.
- Experience using decision management tools, or SAS, or other related programming software an advantage.
