Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator - Emirati Talent

Job Description

We are currently seeking passionate and dynamic Health and Safety professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and direct a team that remains in compliance with top quality food and beverage products through prompt, accurate and personalized service.
As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:
  1. Conduct daily inspections based on food safety standards in kitchens, outlets, and relevant areas such as stores, receiving, engineering, and garbage room.
  2. Conduct daily workplace and guest areas inspections based on the Environment, Health & Safety standards in all departments.
  3. Follow up on the corrective actions implementation with other departments.
  4. Conduct training for all employees on EHS and food safety policies and procedures.
  5. Coordinate EHS meetings and prepare the respective minutes.
  6. Conduct induction training for contractors and colleagues related to EHS and food safety system.
  7. Conduct contractor's inspection when working inside the premises.
  8. Assist other departments on completing their departmental risk assessments, incidents investigation, and corrective actions completion.
  9. Schedule and join the Environmental Health and Safety Manager during audits conducted for suppliers and contractors.
  10. Review and maintain all records related to EHSMS & food safety on a monthly basis.
  11. Participate in various types of EHS/HACCP/ISO/Sustainability/OHSMS compliance and/or management system audits.
  12. Collaborate with various departments to implement corporate social responsibility activities aimed at contributing positively to the community and environment.
  13. Oversee the implementation and monitoring of Rotana Earth programs within the hotel.
  14. Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests' and employees' health and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment.
  15. Comply with the hotel environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.

Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities will include:

  1. Develop OHSMS manuals, policies, and procedures and review periodically or less if required.
  2. Lead the implementation of OHS System and monitor the system through inspections, meetings e.g., OHS meetings, Management review… with the Head of departments as well as the operational colleagues.
  3. Retain active involvement in periodic reviews and assisting in setting EHS objectives and targets.
  4. Ensure that new employees receive all OHS trainings related to their specific tasks.
  5. Report to senior management and sector regulatory authority on the OHSMS performance.
  6. Ensure the Legal requirements are updated, communicated, and implemented throughout the property.
  7. Establish and plan audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OHS regulations.
  8. Oversee and communicate all audit results.
  9. Establish action plans to ensure the hotel compliance with OHS regulatory requirements.
  10. Conduct and regularly review the risk assessment for all areas in the hotel in coordination with the concerned departments and implement specific control measures.

Skills

Education, Qualifications & Experiences
You must be a college/university degree graduate preferably in Health/Hygiene/Quality management with a minimum of one year experience in a similar role with preferable previous experience in the Middle East. You should be computer literate with effective communication skills in both verbal and written English; Arabic will be an advantage.
