Our client is looking for a Female Consultant Gastroenterologist. They will be responsible for treating patients with various medical conditions related to the gastrointestinal tract and the liver, establishing effective patient care plans, and referring patients to the appropriate specialists as needed. The position holder should be highly trained with proven experience of effectively working in a similar healthcare setting.

The facility is also equipped with the Da Vinci and Artis pheno robotic equipment which is more precise and enables quicker surgery with fewer complications resulting in a faster recovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing patients with relevant digestion disorders and diseases that affect their digestive system - including the gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum and anus) as well as the pancreas, liver, bile ducts and gallbladder.
  • Conducting follow-up visits to monitor the patient's condition.
  • Requesting the appropriate medical tests and, based on them, following a treatment plan.
  • Developing effective patient care plans.
  • Referring patients to appropriate specialists.
  • Ensuring that patients are stable before transferring them to the proper department for further evaluation.
  • Providing instructions for discharge and any relevant paperwork.
  • Maintaining patient's medical records.
  • Coordinating with different ER departments to ensure patients receive the necessary treatment.
  • Actively participating in the planning and implementation of the department development plans and the different manpower training programs for the medical, technical, and nursing staff in his/her area of expertise.
  • Participating in the various committees for the upgrading of services and organization of work within and outside the hospital.
  • Participating in scheduling of on-call duties and providing on-call services.
  • Participating in the assessment and updating of drug, medical supply, and equipment needs.
  • Participating in all relevant research activities related to their expertise.
  • Performing special procedures as privileged.
  • Adhering to policies, guidelines, plans, and programs of the organization.
  • Performing other duties as assigned/directed by the Head of the department.

Job Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a full-time Consultant Gastroenterologist position, with a minimum of 1 year experience in a government, semi-government, or a teaching hospital.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in GCC (preferred).
  • Preferably Arabic speaking candidates.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in General medicine like MBBS, MBBCh (Essential).
  • Western Board certified in Gastroenterology and eligible for Consultant License in the State of Qatar as per MoPH criteria (Essential) at least 12 months duration from one of the Category 1 Western countries.
  • US Board/CCT in Gastroenterology or equivalent specialist training certificate (Category 1).
