Apprentice Electrician

Requirements

• Measures, cuts, bends, threads,assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as ahacksaw, pipe threading machine, rules and conduitbenders.
• Installing, modifying and fabricatingcable tray accordingly to drawings &P&ID's.
• Read and understandP&ID's (symbols, tags and instrument lines), wiringdiagrams and instrument loop drawings.
• Pullswiring through wiring raceway, assisted byhelper.
• Load, transport and unload tools,equipment and supplies.
• Connects power cablesto equipment and installs grounding leads.
• Testcontinuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safetyof components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, batteryand buzzer and oscilloscope.
• Observesfunctioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazardsand need for adjustments, relocation, orreplacement.
• Installs control and distributionapparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels,and fastens in place with screws or bolts using hand or powertools.
• Assist in lifting, positioning andsecuring of material and work pieces duringinstallation.
