The post holder will be an experienced andskilled mechanical technician and supervisor undertaking a range ofdetailed maintenance activities on the Typhoon aircraft or aircraftcomponents.

The post holder requires an excellentunderstanding of the approved technical data set and is competentto supervise personnel carrying out maintenance instructions inaccordance with the organisation’s regulatoryframework.

Demonstrates a distinct ability toanalyze and diagnose faults to aircraft systems, equipment andassemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectivelywithin a team. Provide guidance to less experienced team members ina diverse and dynamic operationalenvironment


Undertaking detailedmaintenance, inspection and supervision activities on the Typhoonand its components. Assuring work carried out has been completed inaccordance with the work package using the relevant approvedtechnical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues,including configuration management
Undertaking andcomplete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on theTyphoon aircraft or components which may include, as appropriate,aircraft ground handling, flight servicing, aircraft role changes,component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, faultrectifications, replacements and/or functional/systemtest
Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude tocarrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takesdirection appropriately
Maintain personal taskauthorizations for working on aircraft orcomponents
Ensuring that maintenance is undertaken toschedule and resolve any issues, escalate asrequired
Undertaking fault evaluation and raise ad hocwork cards for ‘found faults’ duringmaintenance
Supervising the team to ensure thatmaintenance is undertaken to schedule and highlight any issues,escalate as required. Report on any impact to the widerprogram
Ensuring that staff are sufficiently competentand approved for the maintenance tasks allocated tothem
Undertaking support tasks within the Aircraft orcomponent maintenance facility which are required to maintaincompliance with the MOE and Functionally Mandated Procedures(FMP’s) (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling / testequipment etc.)”
Provide guidance andleadership to the team. Develops team members using formalassessment processes, e.g. PDR’s, supports and sponsorstraining requests including ‘on the jobtraining’. Demonstrates sound and comprehensivecommunication and people management skills in order to exchangecomplicated information
Ability to scope and carry outindependent and vital inspections

Maintaining apersonal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, oncompletion of On the Job training (OJT) activities, sign otherpersonnel’s logbooks as appropriate within your trade andskills boundaries. If you are an approved designated assessor,undertake authorisation and task competency approvals, and check Pt145 license application packs prior tosubmission
