Mechanical Supervisor

The AGE Mechanical Supervisor reports to theMechanical Workshop Controller and is an experienced and skilledmechanical supervisor, undertaking a range of detailed maintenanceactivities in the AGE bay demonstrating the ability to derivediagnostic mechanical techniques.

The post holder will be responsible formaintaining airworthiness through appropriate task delegation andauthorisation on the Mechanical AGE activities, and will be able todemonstrate awareness of broader external dependencies andidentifies areas for continuous improvement.

CoreActivities

• Undertake detailed maintenance,inspection and supervision activities on the Mechanical componentsin the AGE bay. Assuring work carried out has been completed inaccordance with the SOW / Work package using the relevant approvedtechnical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues,including an awareness of configurationmanagement
• Undertake and complete taskedmaintenance & diagnostic activities of Mechanicalcomponents in the AGE bay which may include, as appropriate,component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, faultrectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test.Demonstrates a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying outresponsibilities appropriate to the role and takes directionappropriately
• Maintain personal & teamstask authorisation for working on AGE in accordance with regulatoryrequirements
• Ensure staff are sufficientlycompetent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated to them.Maintain personal & teams task authorisation for working oncomponents in accordance with AMCrequirements
• Undertake mechanical support taskswithin the AGE bay facility which are required to maintaincompliance with the MOE and regulatory procedures (e.g. oversightchecks, control of tooling / test equipmentetc.)
• Undertake fault evaluation and raise adhoc work cards for ‘found faults’ duringmaintenance
• Responsible for meeting agreeddelivery targets in the short to medium term through thesupervision of others. Progress reporting against delivery targetsto management.
• Log Books maintained asappropriate within your trade and skillsboundaries.
• Provides guidance and leadership tothe team. Develops team members using formal assessment processes,e.g. Performance Reviews, supports and sponsors training requestsincluding ‘on the job training’. Demonstratessound and comprehensive communication and people management skillsin order to exchange complicatedinformation
• Ensure timely Supervision of allmaintenance activities including Technical Instructions related toMechanical Aircraft Ground Equipment
