  • Provides directions andcoordinates the activities of the Anesthesia Department to maintainproper professional and administrative level of Patientcare.
  • Participates in the planning andimplementation of the hospitalpolicies.
  • Responsible for all functional andtechnical aspects of anesthesia services provided to maintainhigh-level of professional and technicalwork.
  • Provides anesthesia with the full rangeof anesthetic agents, methods and techniques in accordance withaccepted professional standards and Medical Organizationpolicies.
  • Makes decisions without reference tothe Medical Director, except where administrative authority isrequired or when other Medical Services functions or organizationof the company are involved.
  • Consults with oradvises other Specialist and Consultants on major, complicatedcases and with patients or guardians concerning necessaryprocedures, Anesthetic Agents to be used, and alternativechoices.
  • Frequent contact with personnel ofSurgical Service, Nurses, Physicians and Specialists of otherservices to exchange information.
  • Solveproblems with all management levels of Medical services such as theSpecialty Chiefs, and the Director of Nursing, other supportservices.
  • Performs all management functionscommon to the Division, either directly or by delegation toassigned personnel.
