Our Middle East operation iscurrently seeking a Marine Environmental Scientist(Offshore) to join our Qatar team. To be successful,you must have a minimum 5 years’ marine environmentalexperience in conducting routine site-specific inspections andother task specific function.

As a MarineEnvironmental Scientist, you will be responsible for studying theocean and your inputs will assist our teams in preparing reportsdetailing the outcome of our surveys.

Thesuccessful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degreequalification in an environmental science, engineering or otherscience discipline.
  • Marine experience andcomfort working in marineenvironment.
  • Comfortable working in an offshorework environment
  • Experience in or basicunderstanding of sample collection, storage and in-situ instrumentusage.
  • Excellent communication skills in bothwritten and spoken English. The ability to speak Arabic is abenefit.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills:verbal, non-verbal, written.
  • Self-motivated andresults oriented with high levels of energy.
  • Isable to work in a team, reporting to senior teammembers.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills andthe ability to work independently in the completion oftasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting marine surveys, reportingto the Project Manager and TeamLeader.
  • Performing tasks in a manner which isconsistent with prescribed methodology, testing, analysis, designor computation methods.
  • Conducting assignmentand investigative work, of specific scope and complexity inaccordance with skill development, involving set elements ofbroader assignments.
  • Assisting more seniorprofessionals/technical officers in carrying out technicaltasks.
  • Survey and inspection of equipment withrecommended improvements andinnovations.
  • Collection of samples with properchain of custody procedures.
  • In-situ testing ofmarine water quality.
  • Marine mammal and reptileobservations during routine works.
  • Basic datacollection and entry.
  • Participate in SCUBA divesurveys where required (if certified as a diver to the companystandard).
